The Council of the EU and the Council of Europe are aspiring to advance Youth Work as part of a European Youth Work Agenda. The Child and Youth Welfare Association (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Kinder- und Jugendhilfe – AGJ) believes that the European Youth Work Agenda will make it possible to introduce effective stimuli from the European debate into the German child and youth welfare system. As the forum for German child and youth welfare, the AGJ also wants to incorporate the expertise of the German child and youth welfare system, in particular youth work and youth social work, into the development of the European Youth Work Agenda and thus bring its principles and quality standards into play on the European level.
In order to contribute to the success of this, in this position paper, the AGJ discusses the announced European Youth Work Agenda and maps out its demands with respect to its structuring and the European and German implementation process.
